Pain Types

Neck Pain & TMD

The neck is often a place that suffers pain in the body. It is far from the feet, and it may seem that the body was ill-designed to hold up the weight of the head. As we discover in The Vance Stance book, the body was, in fact, designed perfectly, and the problem lies in our own way of choosing a possible way to stand, and then holding that for too long. Most people respond to the beauty of beautiful posture, and would like to have it. We respond to beautiful carriage in someone, recognizing at some level that is speaks of power, ease, confidence and perhaps authority. A basic tenet of The Vance Stance® is that our posture is intrinsically linked to places in our body that may be in pain. More about Frozen & Round Shoulder

Back Pain

The chief cause of low back pain is usually compression, shortening of the muscles at the small of the back. This can also lead to nerve pressure, from this compacting in the area. The way out of pain is to change your usual posture, using The Vance Stance® and its 34 Movements. More about Back Pain

Scoliosis

The extreme humps, valleys and curvature of the spine that make up scoliosis can, in most cases, be corrected with The Vance Stance®. Without bracing or surgery, you will learn how to lengthen and flatten the incorrect way of standing, moving, and holding yourself that had allowed scoliosis to take hold. You must re-align your entire body to undo the curvature of the spine. More about Scoliosis

Sway Back & Kyphosis

If the small of your back curves in extremely, often creating a shelf below that juts out behind you, like a toddler’s often does, this is lordosis, or sway back. It is a structural misalignment that must be corrected to prevent and eliminate all manner of body pain including Sciatica, which is the pressing of a nerve in this curved low back and thereby sending shooting pain down a leg. Hip Pain

Tightness in the hip area manifests in several ways. There may be a grinding at the hip joint, in the front of the leg, or at the outer side. Pain may radiate down the front side of the leg, seeming to be inner leg pain. If not corrected, this hip tightness may lead to a hip replacement. In order to prevent this, or, to straighten a second leg to avoid more surgery, The Vance Stance® offers a way for you to change the painful pressure on the hip joint. More about Hip Pain

Tight Hamstrings

Tightness in the hamstrings, which causes pain there and many related alignment problems, can be reversed by The Vance Stance®. As we will explore, the root cause of this, and so many other postural problems, is the original way we learned to stand as toddlers. The Vance Stance will forever replace the faulty habit of use you first tried with one that will make your efforts to stretch and lengthen this tough area. You will learn how to stretch correctly, and, how to stop placing your body in the wrong place in gravity, which keeps triggering your shortening of these muscles. More about Tight Hamstrings

Knock-Knees & Bowlegs

If your legs form an x-shape, and perhaps touch each other at the knees when you stand, or, more extremely, bump each other as you walk, you are said to have knock-knees. This misalignment causes a host of structural problems for your body, and can be corrected by The Vance Stance®. More about Knock-Knees & Bowlegs

Knee Pain

People often expect their knees to fail them. They think it is just the way the body is designed. But The Vance Stance® will show you that you can very often correct the underlying misalignment that is causing the torqueing and compressing at the knee joint that results in deterioration and pain. Crooked legs show up as bowlegs, knock-knees, or hyper-extended legs. These postural aberrations must, and can, be corrected to eliminate the pain. More about Knee Pain

Foot Pain

Many types of FOOT PAIN, like Bunions, hammertoes, plantar fascitis, heel pain, weak arches, flat feet, and pronation can all be helped by a basic tenet of The Vance Stance®. More about Foot Pain

Flat Feet

Misalignment of your feet can force the arches to constrict and flatten, thereby causing you pain. Sometimes you may not have any foot pain, but the flatness may cause pressure at other joints, like weak ankles, knee pain, or hip pain. It is not uncommon for someone with shoulder pain or TMJ to find the connection to the feet as he learns The Vance Stance®. More about Flat Feet

Bunions & Hammer Toes

Bunions, especially, are extremely painful. The usual option offered to sufferers is surgery. From helping thousands of people correct and eliminate the tightness and crookedness that causes bunions, Dr. Bonner has found surgery to be an unnecessary and often an unsuccessful assault on the body. With The Vance Stance®, you will be able to feel and see the intense gripping and angling of the big toe disappear, along with the pain. More about Bunions & Hammer Toes
